Hi all.
I am visiting in Dec 08 and would like to drive the ring.I hold a valid FIA club licence in South Africa. What are the requirements as a passenger as well as a driver. Are there vehicles for hire and when are the open days in December 08.What does it cost. Which is the nearest airport and the closest place to stay overnight.I would appreciate any assistance in this regard as this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Many thanks,
Warren.

Warren, there are no prerequisites for being either a passenger, nor driver of a car around the 'ring' as long as the car is road legal, you can drive it in bermuda's and flip flops if you wish, and as for car hire, take a look at the link ive put below, ive been a few times now and these cars are always there. Hope this helps in some way, have fun and dont crash, its expensive !!!!! Not sure about the airport, but the 2 main entrance to the 'ring' are in a village called Adenau where there are lots of hotels, so you shouldnt have a problem, however, to be on the safe side, do a search and book before you get there.
The track will likely be closed on Dec 8 because it's winter.
If you're looking to actually race on the Ring, I can hook you up with a professional team. You can do individual races with them or work towards participation in the 24 hour race.
